Under the umbrella of the Little Tokyo Service Center, parents of developmental disabled children and their friends will present the film screening about pioneers who
established education, care and social services for developmentally disabled children in Japan in the Meiji era.

Titled as “Fudeko and The Angel’s Piano,” the film based on the inspiring true story of Fudeko Ishii, was produced by Hisako Yamada of Gendai Productions in Tokyo in
2006. Yamada herself has a developmental disabled daughter. Yamada has dedicated her career to producing movies introducing unknown historical figures of
significant achievement to a wide audience.

Popular Japanese actress Takako Tokiwa portrays Fudeko’s very dramatic life and Kabuki actor Emiya Ichikawa makes his film debut. Adding to the authenticity of
the film, developmental disabled children have been cast in the film.

The U.S premiere of “Fudeko” will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Aratani/Japan America Theatre in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.

The special appearance by Director Hisako Yamada will be accompanied with the screening. “Fudemo” in Japanese language with English subtitles. The film
screening will be presented by the Little Tokyo Service Center in association with the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Los Angeles. Proceeds
from the screening will go to benefit the Little Tokyo Service Center. The screening is sponsored by the Aratani Foundation, Miyako Hotel Los Angeles and Mutual
Trading Compnay.
