| 台大地質系1964 畢業, 1969 年加拿大卡爾頓大學(Carleton University)碩士, 1971 年美國康 乃爾大學(Cornell University)博士。繼三年半研究, 1975 年初加入 加拿大聯邦政府能源礦 產資源部(Natural Resources Canada)作研究工作迄今。專作礦物在冶金過程中變化的研究, 在銅電解過程和鋅提鍊過程的研究稍有成究. 現為加拿大採礦冶金石油工程協會會士 (Fellow of The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, CIM). 曾獲加拿大冶金 學會(The Metallurgical Society of CIM) 與 美國礦物金屬材料學會(The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society, TMS)數項獎章。歐洲學者也將一新礦物命名為陳礦(chenite)。曾任美國 礦物金屬材料學會(TMS)和美國採礦冶金探勘學會(Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, SME)工程礦物委員會主委(Chair of Process Mineralogy Committee)及美國礦物 金屬材料學會材料特驗委員會主委(Chair of Materials Characterization Committee)。1974 年 結婚,現有一男一女和三孫女,子。定居加拿大渥太華近四十年, 訂於2011 年初退休。 |
