Software Manager for R&D Division

  • Designed and developed the new generation of professional scanning software – the ScanWizard Pro 6.
  • Researched and developed a powerful CIE LAB/LCH color engine to provide new era of image color correction and editing functions, e.g. Selective Color.
  • Researched and developed a breakthrough Negative Film image processing algorithm with professional color reproduction.
  • Planned and developed Microtek first pathology slide scanner – PS4000 that received great response from viewers at NeuroScience and Biology trade shows.
  • Developed color correction and image processing technology for Plasma and LCD Television. Designed test pattern video to evaluate picture quality.
  • Designed and manufactured ANSI Industry Standard IT8 calibration target.

Microtek International, Inc, Taiwan 1988 – 1999

Manager for Image Software Lab, 1998 – 1999

  • Designed and developed the ICC calibration software “ICC Profiler” for ArtixScan series professional scanner.
  • Researched and developed advanced image processing and color correction algorithms, e.g. Unsharp-masking filter,  fast Bi-Linear Interpolation, and Descreening
    methods.
  • Accomplished the development of the professional scanning software “ScanWizard Pro”.
  • Cooperated with ASIC engineer to implement the first Color Transformation method into a new scanner ASIC.

Program Manager for R&D Division, 1996 – 1997

  • Designed and developed the new professional scanning software – ScanWizard Pro for Microtek’s ArtixScan series professional scanner.
  • Researched and developed the image processing and color correction kernels for ScanWizard Pro.

Senior Software Engineer for R&D Division, 1993 -1995

  • Developed the scanner industry well-known TWAIN software – ScanWizard for desktop scanner.

Software Engineer for R&D Division, 1988 – 1992

  • Researched and developed the world’s first color scanner calibration technology - Dynamic Color Rendition (DCRTM) that helped Microtek’s scanner to win many
    awards, e.g. PC Magazine’s Editors’ Choice.
  • Researched and developed RGB to CMYK color matching technology for color printer and color scanner.
  • Developed Fax software for the world’s first PC Fax Card.


Training:

A Television Color Calibration training held by ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) at EHX, Long Beach, California in 2007.
