I know that you're not very satisfied with the translation of the Chinese Union Version (CUV). I have felt the same way. In fact, among Chinese translations, the new translation from www.wwbible.org is fairly good. However, most Chinese Christians and churches do not use it because they're used to the style of the CUV, just as many English-speaking Christians still prefer the literary style of the King James Version. Therefore, when I retired from Xerox in 2002, I spent some time studying Greek, and then checked every verse of the CUV NT against a few reliable English bibles (YLT, NASU, ESV, NET, and NIV). Wherever the English bibles agree but the Chinese translation is different, I'd check the Greek text and try to make minimal revisions to the CUV. It took me about three years to complete this set of notes which I've uploaded on our website. If you find them useful, you're welcome to put these two links on your website.
I have a large collection of old photographs, including some of our classmates back in the college days. I'm looking for a simple, quick way of converting them to digital files so that I can store and share them. Would you recommend any easy-to-use scanners and software that will meet this need?
