Mr. and Mrs. Whittlesey were my pen-pals during my HCHS years. How they sought me out I have forgotten, but I exchanged letters with them quite often.They kept
sending me old magazines such as Reader's Digest, Life, etc., and I enjoyed reading them very much. I also remember sharing the English-language US magazines
with my HCHS friends during those days. In 1966 while I was studying at USC, Mr. Whittlesey came to see me and treated me a nice steak dinner at a steak house
near USC, during one of his business trips to Los Angeles. They have both passed away and I treasure those days at HCHS when I was their pen-pal.
