| Last Sunday I wrote a letter and sent to the Editor of The Economist by email. Since then, its report in the issue appeared last Saturday entitled “Ma the bumbler” has aroused tremendous amount of attention and discussion in Taiwan. Among all the commentaries I have read, I don’t see any that have covered as comprehensive as my brief letter. I am writing simply out of an intriguing combination of my reminiscent love of Harvard and its alumni, my incorrigible faith on the top-notched political leaders of America, Mainland China, and Taiwan (AMCAT) as well as my strong liking of this prestigious international newspaper (The Economist) itself to which I have been a faithful reader and long-term subscriber.
