| Taiwan Island Village: 台灣島村: Hsinchu (Xinzhu) High School Reminisced 憶竹中 忆竹中 |
原來在新竹常住，只在三、五年前受子女強邀來台北試住一段時間，後來就在師大校門正前方，買了
大樓的小屋20坪房子住下，同時幫小兒子帶小孫女，24 hrs 帶她，當babysitter，很忙。平常專攻英
語，想當英語高手，反而疏於練習中文字，很遺憾，兩種中英文基本工具都沒有弄好。語言還是很
難！雖然如此，對英美文學仍有濃厚興趣。祗是視力障礙影響讀與寫嚴重，請見諒！
本人從民國44年任教竹中母校，教了40年之久，於85年 (大約) 退休，時間過得很快，不饒人！Time
flies like an Arrow！現已退休15年之久，很懷念，很有感情，回想過去未能教得很好，很抱歉。若果
能重來的話，一定會好些 (Impossible, 過去不能回頭。) 祗能照聖經 (The Bible) 所說的：Forget the
past. Press for the future. 忘記背後，努力面前。
我與內人每星期日必回新竹作禮拜。50年如一日，現在78歲。(2010/07/01)
I retired from Hsinchu Senior High School at the age of 63 after I taught English for 41 years. My hobby is
teaching and reading English that has been my job and pastime. I have three children. My daughter is
married to a medical professor at National Taiwan University. My first son is a chemical engineering
professor and my second son is an assistant professor in economics. They both have PhD from
University of Missouri. I love my family. I enjoy my life reading in my retirement. (2010/07/01)
