Annual message to all my friends
|
I was walking on the charming beach chasing my dream,
I saw the amazingly beautiful horizon far far away,
I smelled the wet Aegean sand that covered my toes,
I heard the Aegean seagull's screeching sounds,
I felt as if the Aegean water is giving me a big hug,
That was yesterday, when I was young.
I was soaking in the Aegean golden sunshine having my dream,
I saw kids were swimming in the deep-blue Aegean Sea.
I smelled the flower-like aroma in the air,
I heard the roaring waves coming and going,
I felt the wind going through my hair and the water tickling my feet,
That was yesterday, when I was young.
I was having sun and fun on Aegean sizzling sandy-beach,
I saw gorgeous topless Greek-Goddess running and laughing,
I tasted Uzso-wine and marijuana for first time in my life,
I had an untamed wild-dream that night and I was in hell,
I felt an ancient irresistible-impulse melted my body and soul,
That was yesterday, when I was young.

Dear Bob: You're an amazing poet - and in a language that is not your
mother language (I can't imagine me writing a poem in Chinese!)
When are you two going to visit Hawaii??

Subject: Typos in letter 2 of 2 --- speak & morale
My dear friends:
Pastor Don Baron, age 76, was my ( age 66 ) English teacher in the
summer of 1962. Forty
-five years ago, young Mr Baron was one of my roommates in the Lutheran
Student House.
He offered 8 weeks free English class to local Chinese roommates.
He gave us " tought " training, I called him an American Confucius. He
taught us how to speaqk English properly, he got a new title from me --
Professor Higgins of My Fair Lady
( 1964 musical, best picture of the year ).
He has a great sense of humor -- I am not a poet, his " White -Lies " (
reverse psychology )
did boost my moral and also to make himself feel good too ( He is my
teacher ) -- It's a gag !
True friends deliver white-lies, which makes me feel " young " & happy.
Don's compliment overwhelms me, I treasure his friendship and I love him
dearly. ( Note: Love = Fraternity, Christian Charity )
Shalom,
Bobby Chen
