Dear Friends, Brothers &
Sisters:

" Mongol " is a
Kazakhstan's film,
directed by a Russian
film maker, was
nominated for Oscar's
best foreign language
film of 2007. The untold
story  of the rise of
Genghis Khan was
brilliantly written and
producded by Mr  Sergei
Bodrov. This brawny,
old-school epic drives
me to write the
interesting link between
high school history
books and some verses
in  the Old Testament.

(1) Ancient Chinese built
The Great Wall to stop
the hordes of  the  "
XiongNu " ( Hiong-nu or
Hun ),Tatar and Turkic
tribes from the  north.
Those warlike Asiatic
tribe people who, led by
Attila and  others,
invaded ( bloodshed )
the eastern and central
Europe ( Budapest,
Hungary ) in the 4th & 5th
century.

(2) Genghis Khan (
Temuchin, 1162-1227 )
and his successors,
who ruled Mongolian,
Turkic tribes of central
Asia and China during
the middle ages.

(3) Mongol Khan Batu
and his combined forces
( with Tatar tribes )
ravaged and burned
down Moscow in 1238
A.D. and ruled Russia
until 1480 A.D.     --The
end of the Tatar yoke,
which had lasted for
more than two and a half
centuries.

(4) In the Bible ...586
B.C.... the prophet
Ezekiel, lived in exile in
Babylon, was a man of
deep faith and great
imagination. Many of his
insights came in the
form of visions, and
many of his messages
were expressed in vivid
symbolic actions. There
are some interesting
chapters in the second
part of " The Book of
Ezekiel " which give me a
question: Who was Gog
?      a. Temuchin ?  b.
Batu ?  c. Attila ?

Ezekiel 38:2
Gog was the chief ruler
of the nations of
Meshech and Tubal in
the land of Magog.

Ezekiel 38:6
All the fighting men of the
lands of Gomer and Beth
Togarmah in the north
are with him, and so are
men from many other
nations.

Ezekiel 38:10-11
This is what the the
Sovereign Lord says to
Gog: " When that time
comes, you will start
thinking up an evil plan.
You will decide to invade
a helpless country where
the people live in peace
and security      in
unwalled towns that
have no defenses....". (
including many small
nations live at the
crossroads of the world -
now in Xinjiang Province,
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan,
kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan
Republics.)

Ezekiel 38:14-15
So the Sovereign Lord
sent me to tell Gog what
he was saying to him: "
Now while my people
Israel live in security, you will set out to come from your place in the far north, leading a large, powerful army of soldiers from many nations, all of them on horseback."

(5) Tatary was a vast region in Europe & Asia under the control of Tatar tribes in the late middle ages. Its greatest extent was from SW Russia ( The Crimea and Black Sea area ) to the Siberia Pacific. (
Note: Russians once owned Alaska )

(6) Mongol conquered many tribes live at the crossroads of the world, such as Tatar, Tubal and Meshech. According to some scholars in 20th century that Rosh ( Russ ) and Togarmah tribes ( in far
north ) were ancient Russians.

(7) In the Old Testament: 586 B.C....Gog was a chief ruler of many nations. In history book: 1200 A.D. Genghis Khan was also a chief ruler of many nations. In 20th century: Russia was a chief leader of
other 14 Union Republics, we called them Soviet Union ( USSR ) - President Reagan called them " The Evil Empire ".

(8) Frank, thank you for your help - a Hebrew translation of  " Russia " definitely stop me to get " Lost In Translation ". When you come across more new materials, please let me know.
