Hi Bill Lee and HCHS Class 1960 classmates:

Approaching the end of the New Year of the Dragon holidays, I am pleased to have encountered today 2 editorials and 1 commentary as attached
covering a wide range of political and economic issues related to Taiwan, Mainland China and America. I feel that you might find them insightful, if
you get the chance to go through them.

In any so-called earthly democracy in the world, with "democracy" having been just another human invention as well as a "less bad" human system
(versus a so-called "perfect" political system), we participate in elections and elect people and parties not because they are good or perfect, but
because they are "less bad". The same thing happens everywhere, including places such as Taiwan, United States, among others. In the coming US
presidential election, being more liberal oriented (as against
Republican conservative”), I'll vote for Obama simply because currently he is the "less
bad" among the available choices in the US. We all have different political orientations and differences; however, we all came from the same
wonderful educational institution, HCHS (新竹中學), and so, let's forget about our respective "
意識形態's" and political differences and let's
appreciate and treasure and continue on with our friendships and good feelings toward each other.
